Another Small Taste of Talent!

As we have mentioned before, we are honored to be working with our friend and fellow photographer Genevieve Russell. She is doing the story of our family, which for Michael and I has been a real honor. Her talent is amazing and totally refreshing. She finished the interviews and pictures this past Monday, and is putting all the pieces together now for the final product. She sent a sampling of the images she has taken of us as a new family and I could not resist sharing them with you, one...because the images are stunning and two....it gives me a good excuse to plug Genevieve and her new business. Here is her website.

Totally amazing! Thank you, Genevieve! We can not wait to show the world the final product. We will keep you posted.

Enjoy the pictures.

Dad and Aidyn Bonding Time!

Michael and Aidyn got to have some great bonding moments! We took our friend Leo's advise and introduced Aidyn to the shower. He loved the water, in fact, he fell asleep in Michael's arms. Good to see our son loves water! Yeah!

We have also introduced the bottle to Aidyn. We are feeding him with breastmilk in a bottle once a day. It is great for both him and Michael to have that time together. He took to the bottle very well and they had a great time. Though it only takes about 1o minutes for him to finish a bottle, he is quite the eater!

Everyone is healthy and well here, almost one month old! Amazing how time flies!

Growing Like a Weed!

I am constantly amazed by the growth of this little guy. He continually takes on the world, kicking, moving and shaking! We are all getting adjusted to the life changes. We sleep less, but seem to be pulling through ok. I have a feeling Michael suffers more than I as he has to his job, which is rather physical and tiring in its own right.

We have had a incredible group of friends continually bringing us dinners and goodies, it has been such an honor to have all these people in our lives. The network of friends we have made here in Santa Fe have been such dynamic and caring individuals....we are just extreamely lucky for all of them.

Fisher is adjusting very well, he is very sweet to Aidyn, very cautious and really only tries to lick the feet...how can he resist really!

Enjoy the new pics! Michael and Aidyn are buds as you can see, and he just seems to kick back with dad! It is always great to see Michael walk in the door and grab him right out of my arms...he is a very proud dad...and I am continually impressed. The others are just basically cuteness!

hugs!

Because Grandpa Said So!

Grandpa Sandstrom visited Aidyn right after he was born, but he had to go back to Bayfield...such a bummer for him. I updated the blog , but that was not enough, so I am adding more for the world to see. He is a week and a half old and doing wonderful! Enjoy!

Aidyn's First Week!

Wow, we made it through the first week! Aidyn is doing great, and we are thrilled to have him join our world. He seems to be an incredible sleeper and he eats like a champ...I bet he got that from the Sandstrom side!! We have had some adventures along the way for sure, as you can see in the pictures.

Aidyn had some jaundice, which is when the liver is not functioning at full capacity, so their skin appears sorta yellow. So, he had to wear a blanket called a Billyrubin blanket that gives off UV light....as you can see in the picture above where it looks like Aidyn is a little lighting bug. He wore it for three days straight, rough on the family, they could not snuggle as much as they wanted to, but in the end on Monday morning, he was cleared by the doc. She said he looked amazing and he was set. He even gained 7 ounces in four days which is about double what they should....see he really is a good eater!

He also had his first bath, not totally thrilled about the process, but he had adorable fuzzy hair and smelled like an angel. It was a real treat.

Having Mom, Dad, and Kristen here for this time has been something to cherish. Family is such an amazing thing, and I could never in my wildest dreams imagined them not being here. They were an incredible help with cooking, cleaning, and the continuous running of errands. We love them dearly, and thank them from the bottoms of our hearts for all they did and are still doing!

We have slowly introduced Fisher (our 2 year old yellow lab) to Aidyn, he is doing so well. Adjusting to not as much attention, and trying his damnest to get in a good lick every now and then. But all in all, we could not ask for a better dog...he is doing great.

People have been asking for our contact info, so I will give it to you all just in case you do not have it.
