Merry Christmas!
The holidays came and went...well..New Years is still comin', but still it is all happening way faster than I ever imagined. We headed down to Milwaukee for Christmas this year to be with Michael's family and some of my extended family members. Action packed to say the least. We got to spend an entire afternoon at the Waterpark, which was so painfully fun it is even hard to put into words...not the easiest place to photograph but still fun none the less.
We wanted this time to be all about spending time with family, since life has been incredibly busy for us and we do not get a chance to see family as much as we would really like to. Aidyn loved getting a chance to get to know his cousins a bit better, and he was in heaven with ALL the grandparents, aunts, uncles, second cousins, great grandparents...etc etc. We did celebrate Christmas Eve with my extended family...all 40 some people...and Aidyn was the star of the show....entertaining the entire evening! What a charmer!
Gifts this year seem to be all about Trucks, tractors, construction, and trains....anything that could make a loud engine sound or could push, shove, or remove dirt in any way possible. I would like to say I have a son who is a TRUE BOY!! I am all about the whole idea of Aidyn playing with whatever toy strikes his fancy...even dolls, but the genetics of boys comes through no matter what ya do...it is amazing! Anyway...boys will be boys.
We had an incredible time with family and we already miss them. We look forward to posting more images over the New Year to celebrate Aidyn's 2 birthday and moving into 2010!
Christmas Trees...Santa....Cookies..does it get any better?
Yup, Christmas....what fun to be had for a 2 year old! The snow has fallen, the tree was cut down, Santa came over to Bayfield on the ferry, and we decorated christmas cookies...this all happened in the first two weeks of December. This may give a clue as to why there has not been a posting in a while. Life has been very busy. I can tell you that both Michael and I have found a new appreciation for the holidays...there is such a great sense of love, laughter, and even excitement when it is seen through the eyes of an almost two year old.
We are working hard at getting Aidyn into the winter wonderland. This seems to be taking some time....he likes it...only to a point...once any part of him is remotely cold he is DONE! Step by step he will learn to love it.
Decorating cookies! WOW! What a blast to be had by all. Aidyn had a ton of fun, and actually did pretty darn well with the decorating and got outta there without eating a butt load of sugar. yeah mom and dad!
Enjoy the pics!
