Monkey Business...

Spending a week in Santa Fe was a great break for the three of us after weeks of construction and hard work. I once again have to be incredibly thankful for photographer friends. Here comes the plug....she is amazing, talented, and possibly one of my most favorite people in the world! Jennifer Davidson took time out of her busy schedule to take some great photos of Aidyn and even Michael and I too! Make sure you take some time to look at her website...she is truly a great photographer!

Little Boys, Grandpas & Dads!

Little Boys, Grandpas & Dads! What would the world be like without them. They all have a magic touch that impacts everyone! Little boys love their dads! They REALLY love their grandpas! For some reason Aidyn will sit on Grandpa's lap and fall asleep...when does that happen for me??? A special thing that all grandpas cherish, and should keep close to their hearts...cuz it does not happen often.
Aidyn is starting to love books, patience is extending, he will sit longer and actually sometimes listen to an entire book...not a lot but sometimes. We cherish those moments as well.
I continue to be amazed by how fast this little guy is growing! Time is flying and he is movin' and groovin' with a great since of humor and an even greater since of character.

Ever Evolving!
Once again, I feel the need to apologize for the delay in getting this post up for you all. The continual chaos of our lives pretty much seems to be all consuming and ever evolving.
Aidyn is growing strong and is definately a little boy...grunting his way through the challenges of being 1. He is almost running and is pulling himself up on just about anything he can get his hands on. He is learning sign language and it is a hoot to watch him communicate with his hands. Eating with a spoon is a wonderful learning experience as well, as you can see in the video. What a blast!
We are settling into Bayfield and continue to be buried in construction, soon to be done...we are hoping to be complete in two to three weeks. We are thrilled to be working together and can not wait to be offically open to the public.
We send you tons of love this winter!

Celebrations All Around…sorry for the delay!

So I have been trying very hard to attempt a blog entry probably for the past three weeks. Yes, this being a big challenge with holidays, birthdays, families, New Years, sick kids, school, new business, and moving back to Bayfield…just writing that has made me tired. So, you all are going to have to stick it out, this is going to be a long one!
We have been so blessed, I think that is the best way for me to start this blog. For many many reasons….I think the first one has to be family. What would Michael, Aidyn, and I do if we did not have family.
Chris and Richard (Michael’s mom and husband)..angels! They have graciously welcomed us into their home for three months…constantly supporting us through child dramas and business woes. Chris always making sure we are taken care of…forever I will hold that in my heart. She is the BEST!
Don and Kathy (Michael’s Dad and wife) where to start! Constant love…constant guidance…constant support. They both continue to be there for us through all of our changes, even to be there for a few babysitting gigs so Michael and I could spend some time on our own.
Tricia, David, and Ben…they have been great tag team parents. We have loved the time to share with them, as they are traveling down the same road as us with a small little boy around the same age. Being able to have these three months with them was incredibly special for us, and we continue to get excited to see these two boys grow up together…watch out world here they come!
Mandy, Todd, Tyler, and Kaityln, what an amazing treat to have time over the holidays….we have not had a chance to share that much time in years, and we are so very thankful. It makes both Michael and I truly realize how much we love and honor our family.
Nancy, Steve, and Kristen (Darcy’s Mom, Dad, and sister) have been incredible supporters of all our endeavors. Their ability to support us on a continuous basis with the business, moving, Aidyn, school, and much more has been an amazing gift for us all. They continue to guide us through a very scary process of starting a business, and even though I am sure they were ready to throw in the towel as we called 10 times a day with questions, they never gave up…that is family for ya!
Our FRIENDS! I miss all of you greatly, and am so greatful to have you in our lives. All of you in Santa Fe, Bayfield, and even Milwaukee…though we have been here for three months we have not had much time with friends, so sorry for that! I started this blog initially for our family as we were far away, and now I think it is more for our friends as well as we are now closer to family and further away from those friends. I promise to keep it up!!!
So for this blog entry, I send love and happiness for the holiday season and for this coming year! Everyone means the world to us, and we hope 2009 brings great adventures for you all!

Day in the Life of a Sick Kid!

So it has happened…our first true parenting experience with a sick kid! We have been very lucky to have such an amazingly healthy child….but the time had come, apparently it was time for THE EAR INFECTION! How to explain crying all night? You can’t, but I know all parents out there know exactly what I am talking about…I just had no idea that it would happen for three nights! But, we did get to the doctor…on Aidyn’s 1st birthday he got to spend quality time at Children’s hospital ER waiting to get some medicine. He is a rockstar now, but he definitely put us to the test. Michael was amazing as I had to head back to school, so I was shunning to the guest bedroom while he and his mom tag teamed taking care of the little guy at night.
I know this is just the beginning, now I can not wait for the first time he comes to me and throws up all over me…one thing at a time!

A Winter Wonderland for Aidyn!

Ah, winter...I have to say, snow, it is a wonderful thing! Last winter Aidyn did not really get a chance to experience snow, so this has been fun to see how he responds to it all.
I know we have been quite horrible about the blog lately, so here is the scoop. I am guessing Aidyn is weighting in around 23 pounds, he has shot up in size, most of his 12 month clothes are getting a bit snug. We are starting to gain some confidence in the walking, though he seems to be totally content holding someones hand and taking many many tours around the house. He is eating like a champ!
We are still in Milwaukee while I attend school, but by around the 12th of January we make the official move back to Bayfield, WE CAN NOT WAIT! It has been an amazing journey, and even better to have this time with family and friends. Chris and Richard have been amazing and incredible hosts and babysitters...as well as Don and Kathy have been great to take on the challenge of Aidyn. Aidyn has gotten a chance to get to know his cousin Ben and Aunt Tricia and Uncle David. We all had Thanksgiving together, what a treat!
We send out tons of holiday wishes to friends and family, this is absolutely hands down my favorite time of year. Making me take some time to truly appreciate all of you in our lives. Love to you all!

Falling Behind on the Pics!

OK, life has offically taken over! It seems to be impossible to get everything done in one day. Aidyn is continuing to move and groove and is so close to walking he can taste it. We are continuing to prepare our business for mid January opening, so stay posted for our website launch and our opening date....Enso Wellness Center & Day Spa will be coming soon!
Here are some pics from this fall, mom and dad and some great Halloween shots...he costume was running a bit tight, but he looked pretty darn cute!
Sending all our best!

Movin' and Groovin'!
Are we ready? Are we remotely ready for this next stage....the walking...which actually really just turns to running? I am honestly not sure...not much we can really do about it though...cuz this kid is on the MOVE! He is not actually walking on his own yet, pushing things, walking against walls, and with mom and dad holding on. He is a determined kid though! I am placing bets for Thanksgiving, I have a feeling by that point he will be walking.
He is doing amazingly well, eating a TON! He loves all food, I actually can not think of one thing he is not liking right now. He is sleeping like a champ and has two top teeth now..thank god...that was a rough go for a couple of weeks.
Michael and I are doing well, we are constantly busy. Michael is working hard at being a stay at home dad, and doing amazing at it...a wee bit tired (actually totally knackered) and I am enjoying school more than I ever thought I would. Who would have thunk I would get such a kick out of waxing and popping zits.
We are very much looking forward to our next adventure in Bayfield. Enso Wellness Center and Day Spa is slowing getting going. We should be up and running by February. We have been working hard on marketing, promos and the website, for sure we will keep you all posted.
Sending tons of love to you all. Enjoy the pics and the video too!

Aidyn Takes on some household chores!

So, it has been a while...to long, and I apologize for that. Life has gotten into more of a routine. We have arrived in Milwaukee and are staying with Grandma and Grandpa Pollack for a couple of months while I attend the Aveda Institute. It has been wonderful for us to have this time with them. Prior to that we were in Bayfield where Aidyn got a chance to hang with Aunt Kristen and Grandma and Grandpa Sandstrom. The first image shows Aidyn with some of Grandpa Sandstroms veggies that came from his garden...I would like to say he helped, but not really.
Michael has taken to being a stay-at-home dad, doing the cooking, laundry, dishes, baby food...basically you name it. He has been a total angel while I tackle school. There is no way I could be doing this without him! He has got some training in for Aidyn as well....gotta start young right!
Aidyn is growing strong, pulling himself up, crawling and starting to attempt to discover balancing on his own...what a kick! We will keep you all posted!

Aidyn is Moving to WISCONSIN!!!!!
It is offical....Aidyn has moved to Wisconsin. What an adventure to say the least. Michael and I have finally gotten everything into a storage unit and are in Bayfield, Wisconsin. A bit tired and weary but feeling really good about this new journey that lies ahead for us all.
I wanted to take this entry to thank every single person in Santa Fe that has changed our lives. If I listed them all this blog would be pages long, but I felt it was really important for us both to let you all know how much you truly mean to us.
Santa Fe is a magical place, and it was a perfect fit for us for these past three years, we met a community that took us in and showed us the Santa Fe way. My place of work, the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, has always been special to me and my photography. The healing community led Michael down an amazing road for his current career in Massage Therapy and he is incredibly thankful for that education. Bringing Aidyn into the world, while in Santa Fe, was an honor. The doctors, my doula, and our friends made having Aidyn such an even more amazing experience. Especially knowing that our families were 1300 miles away...you all became our family.
The friends are what made Santa Fe home for us. We will forever charish every single one of you...more than words can ever do justice. Thank you all for your constant love, support, and guidance, and even though we are now 1300 miles away from you all...that does not mean we will not be back! We promise that!
Love and hugs to you all!
