WE ARE HAVING A........

BABY! Hah! We are not going to share that with y'all right now. It is going to be a surprise. We had our 20 week ultrasound today, it was a KICK! I can not begin to tell you how interesting it is. I could have been there for hours just asking questions. I got a cd with about 25 images, and I am not going to put all of them up, but some of them that are easier to interpret are here for you to see. You will see one image where it looks like he/she is sitting indian style with its arm resting on its leg. Michael and I think that is a good sign for having a little yogini! Enjoy! We will be posting my pic tonight, we have fallen a little behind.

Hooter Hiders

I thought that might catch your attention. This is great! I had to put this on our blog, mostly because of the name, but also cuz it is such a great idea. Someone out there is thinkin'! Check out the website. I am definately going to register for one of these!!!!

The cool thing about them is there is a rigid neck line, so the mom can see what is going on but no one else can! Cool huh! You will see that the covers are called "Hooter Hiders" or "Bebe au Lait", the owners decided to make the same thing with two names, so if you feel you are too chic to wear a "Hooter Hider" you can wear a "Bebe au Lait instead" Fab!

19 Weeks!

Here is 19 weeks, not much to show for it right now. I ventured out this weekend to the land of maternity clothing. All I can really say to that is HOLY CRAP! It is possibly one of the most impossible things to grasp. I mean I am all about getting big, but how does one really estimate how big they might get, and how much they are willing to spend on clothing that they might wear for one year. Thanks to some friends I have gotten some hand me downs, but I do admit when it comes to pants I am kinda picky...my mother would be proud that I admit that, she has nightmares of shopping with me when I was little refusing to wear corduroys because of the swooshing sound they made when one walks.

So a friend and I went to the mall in search of some pants. The department stores have maternity clothing online, but when you arrive at the store, they do not carry maternity clothing in the store. Now why would one not carry maternity clothing in the store...I mean this is the point at which a woman is rather self conscious to begin with and to not be able to try something is slightly frustrating...instead you can go online guess what you think is right, order it and then try it on realizing you look like a whale in those jeans so you pay to ship them back and start all over...that is NOT remotely what I wanted to do.

I did find the BabyGap, they sell maternity clothing and it was successful, at least finding pants that fit was the successful part. Deciding that I would spend $50 on them was the bummer. People will just have to get used to me in the same three pairs of pants for the next year. I am sure you are all fine with that. By the way, I figured out why they put the women's maternity clothing in the BabyGap, see there are all these amazingly cute baby clothes and since your hormones are totally out of wack every little freakin baby thing is adorable and you can not help but pick up those $32 overalls for a baby girl...you just can not wait and have to have them. This is why you take a friend with you who is not a mom or pregnant, they keep you in check. I got out baby clothing free! Yeah me!

All in all, I have a found it to be a hysterical journey and in all reality it was not that bad, but I do find it to be amazing how this industry is booming! I mean you could honestly spend thousands of dollars on clothing...and you have not even started to buy clothing for your child yet...that is a whole other blog!

Hugs to you all, and I hope everyone is well. Chat with you next week.

a little more.....

I posted the latest picture last night, and said a few words, mostly because when it gets to that time of night I feel like I am not running on all cylinders. For example, yesterday I had gone for a great hike with a friend, a hike that I have done many a time, but this time around it sorta felt like a mini marathon. I was rather shocked...or maybe not prepared to feel that way. I got home, feeling totally famished, because of course because I am pregnant I forget that nurtrients go to the baby and then me...one must eat more....lesson learned...must store snacks in all areas, car, purse, house, office, etc. I decided to read up a little on the 18th week of pregnancy, well I did find that my heart is now working 50% harder now...well that would explain the mini marathon earlier in the day now wouldn't it. My uterus is the size of a cataloupe...that would explain my favorite jeans not really feeling the same way they did last week. And, one strange thing, my hair has been great! It has been rather full and having some volume, now that is not common for me at all! So, I found out that throughout my pregnancy I will not be losing any hair. You typically lose about 100 strands a day, not the case right now. Though, I was nicely warned by my hair stylist, once I stop breast feeding it is all over sister, it will all start falling out. All very interesting stuff.

I continue to feel really good, I have been very lucky and honored that this little one has been so good to me. I continue to send good vibes his/her way and he/she seems to give them in return. It is fun to share with friends and family through this process. Love and hugs to all!

SO COOL!

So, last night I was laying in bed reading this really great book called, Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert...I highly recommend it....but anyway I was reading and felt this very strange bubbly feathery feeling in my tummy! YEAH! I think I felt the baby move! Problem is I have never been pregnant before so for all I know it could be indigestion...but I do not think so, this felt way different.

I can tell I am moving into that next phase, the tummy is growing, it is getting more solid and I can feel the muscles and tendons starting to stretch, pretty wild. I have more energy now than I have had in a really long time, so that is great.

Feeling good...and can not wait for the tummy to get even bigger. I say that now, I know I am not going to feel that way at eight months!
