Wow, we made it through the first week! Aidyn is doing great, and we are thrilled to have him join our world. He seems to be an incredible sleeper and he eats like a champ...I bet he got that from the Sandstrom side!! We have had some adventures along the way for sure, as you can see in the pictures.Aidyn had some jaundice, which is when the liver is not functioning at full capacity, so their skin appears sorta yellow. So, he had to wear a blanket called a Billyrubin blanket that gives off UV light....as you can see in the picture above where it looks like Aidyn is a little lighting bug. He wore it for three days straight, rough on the family, they could not snuggle as much as they wanted to, but in the end on Monday morning, he was cleared by the doc. She said he looked amazing and he was set. He even gained 7 ounces in four days which is about double what they should....see he really is a good eater! He also had his first bath, not totally thrilled about the process, but he had adorable fuzzy hair and smelled like an angel. It was a real treat.Having Mom, Dad, and Kristen here for this time has been something to cherish. Family is such an amazing thing, and I could never in my wildest dreams imagined them not being here. They were an incredible help with cooking, cleaning, and the continuous running of errands. We love them dearly, and thank them from the bottoms of our hearts for all they did and are still doing! We have slowly introduced Fisher (our 2 year old yellow lab) to Aidyn, he is doing so well. Adjusting to not as much attention, and trying his damnest to get in a good lick every now and then. But all in all, we could not ask for a better dog...he is doing great.People have been asking for our contact info, so I will give it to you all just in case you do not have it.Michael and Darcy Schwerin329 E Buena Vista St Apt ASanta Fe, NM 87505darcy cell: 505-490-3370michael cell: 505-490-2737darcy email: darcy.schwerin@gmail.commichael email: michaelschwerin@gmail.comEnjoy the pics, and their will be more to come!!!
It has now officially begun...the waiting, the wondering, the anticipating...something...anything to happen. The full belly has begun, I mean, I know there was a belly there before, but now....now it is protruding unlike before, it is there when I wake up in the middle of the night and have to groan as I roll over, hoping to not wake my husband as there is a minor earthquake on bed as I roll. I have really truly felt lucky throughout this pregnancy, it has been smooth sailing and I have felt amazing....so now as the last two weeks are upon me....I get to be uncomfortable...98% of the time. I am ok with this...I have to be, what am I really going to do about it now.Really though, I feel good. I have suffered from a numb right hand, seems to be some sort of pinched nerve, apparently something that can happen toward the end of pregnancy. It does make it rather hard to write, type, or work with a mouse...thus...working at my job has been more challenging...not only from the numb hand but from the overall excitement to have the kid and go on maternity leave for a while. We promise to keep everyone up to date in the coming weeks. It is a waiting game, of which if any of you know me...patience??? YEAH RIGHT!! My first parental test, it is a good one, I need it.Michael continues to be an amazing support for me, I feel extremely lucky to have a husband like him! He spent an hour getting the car seat all figured out for the car....what a guy! He continues to be my biggest support, and that makes me realize how lucky I am to have him around.Happy New Year to everyone! We wish the best for you all in this upcoming year!!
Hi Everyone, Yup...slowly falling behind on the blog situation.....my apologies. I am big...feeling big...having a hard time getting shoes on, hands and feet slightly swollen...and i do not have cravings? I think I might be the only pregnant woman to not have cravings, I should be wanting ice cream or a burger or something! Anyway...Michael and I are working hard at getting the house ready, the stroller and carseat are ready the crib is set and we are geting pretty damn exciting. We met with our Doula and are feeling like we are really lucky to have this incredible woman helping and supporting both of us through this process. We shall keep you posted...any time now!!!!

WOW! It has been amazingly busy. I will have a prego picture up soon, but I thought it would be way more fun to see pics of what we have been up to in these past weeks.I am feeling great, there is a definite feeling of being pregnant, the belly is preventing me from putting my socks on normally, I am glad to know that Michael is really the only one who has to witness me attempting to do this in the morning. Sleeping is a bit tougher, you do not roll over any more, you kinda flop in a very NON graceful way. BUT, we have about 5 weeks left and are getting way excited. This past weekend, as many of you already know, we got to be in Milwaukee, WI. We got to stay with Michael's brother and Tricia and the new little one! Being able to share time with them was great, and to be able to hold that little one was just as fun! Thanks for sharing your home with us!Nicole our best friend got married this weekend, and I happened to be one of the bridesmaids...I actually looked quite good if I do say so myself...that is for being 8 months pregnant. The wedding was STUNNING, Nicole looked amazing as did Andy and they both were so incredibly happy! I have posted some pics from that, with my fam and of Nicole and Andy and Noah of course! Who had to be one of the most stunning people there. After the wedding my sister, mom, and Nana threw Michael and I a baby shower with all our family and friends in Milwaukee. It was so great to see everyone, and share in this celebration. We got many amazing gifts...one being a quilt that my sister made for us. Who knew! She learned how to quilt...she never seizes to amaze it. It is something that the little bean will cherish forever!Michael and I want to send out a HUGE thank you to everyone, we had such an amazing weekend. I thank Nicole and Andy for having Michael and I share in their amazing day, and my mom and sister and Nana...they worked their butts off for this shower, and everyone who shared time with us. We more than appreciate it. We are not going to be able to come home for the holidays, so it is nice to know we had some time with you all.

I hit 32 weeks, and had a great doc appointment, I am healthy as well as the baby. My doctor was very entertained to find that the baby is extremely active, when she was listening to the heart rate it was rolling all over the place. It has been amazing to watch, my placenta is posterior, which it is pushing the baby closer to the surface, hence I have my own baby T.V., watching it roll, kick, and punch. My belly is presently measuring at 32.5 inches...and growin'!The little bean is about 15 1/4 inches long and about 3.5 pounds..to me, feeling like a bit more than that, but we shall see. He/she can move his/her head from side to side now, and is responsive to noise. Michael, being the massage therapist has been very good to me, and also is loving watching the baby move and tries regularly to figure out what is the head, butt, and legs. It is pretty damn funny.Ok, so the other pictures are sorta out of order. Michael and I had the pleasure of having my mom come visit for a couple of days. It was great to have that time with her. It is hard to have the family so far away as we go through this process. But, we got to include her in the fun of getting our crib and setting it up. PAINLESS! It was a breeze to put together, or you should really ask that to my mom and Michael as I did not do much but watch. It is set up and is rather amazing to wake up in the morning and see this crib staring me in the face....a major reality check, that is for sure. The picture of Michael adorning lots of baby stuff, is from our first shower. He is very excited about all of this, and I think the hat looks pretty darn cute.We are having a great time, and are looking forward to coming to Wisconsin in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, we hope everyone has a GREAT TURKEY DAY!!!!!!
Hi Everyone,Here we are....moving along quite nicely. I must say, feeling amazing. Enjoying this process of a baby growing, moving, kicking, punching, rolling, and hickuping! The movements are a little more forceful now, he/she is growing, giving him/herself less room to flip around. But, still managing to get in a good one here and there.I am glad to be back in Santa Fe after a couple of weeks of travel. Took the weekend to catch up and get some sleep. One thing I NEVER did before pregnancy was nap, and now I am starting to think it is a key element to my day.The best part of all of this, no sense of depth...for some reason I tend to forget that I have a belly, until I smack into something. I think I am still the same size, and then I try to squeeze past someone and I realize...ok..nope that is not going to work. It is pretty damn funny. Hugging Michael is funny too. I go in to hug the guy and smack him with my belly. And it is still going to get bigger!Enjoy the pic, and we will keep you all posted!
