25 Weeks

Here we are...25 weeks. I have gone to the doc, gained 7 pounds in 4 weeks...I love it! The only time in my life where I look forward to eating whatever I want whenever I want.

I am healthy and well. Michael and I had our adventures this week registering at Babys R Us...I will post pictures when I get them developed, it was a stitch...it was also about 5 hours long. The stroller shopping in itself took an hour and a half! Yup! We wanted to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted...and really..would it really be unlike the two of us to spend that much time registering?? Come on! Stay in touch, and wait on some great photos.

We send love to all and we will keep you posted.

Dog and Baby

So, we have been noticing Fisher, wondering what it will be like for him to become the second focus in the whole family dynamic. For some reason, I think he knows this, he knows something with me is different. He stares at my tummy, and even when I lie down with him he tends to paw at my tummy...actually more like punch....a since of jealousy already??? So, we are giving him the extra love right now. I know without hesitation he is going to be great with the baby, even entertaining at that, he is already a ham. Enjoy the pics!

Weeks 23/24

Good morning everyone! Here is an image for weeks 23 and 24. I have been running behind, hoping to get back on track with weekly images. I am feeling great, my back is feeling stronger and less strained. I have made an effort to make sure I am not waddling around with my belly sticking out. It seems to help to make sure my posture is ok. Michael has been an incredible husband giving me a massage once a week, which also helps with the back and the butt muscles.

We are starting our birthing class tonight. It is sorta early but life starts to get totally nuts in October and November so we are going to do it now. The facility we are going to also helps with finding a Doula. If you have not heard of a Doula, this is a woman experienced in childbirth who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to the mother before, during and just after childbirth....that would be the official definition. Michael and I feel it is important to have that person there to help take care of the details so that Michael can be with me and not have to worry. It should be a great thing.

The pregnancy has been good to me, I am amazed at how my ribcage is expanding....making room as my organs are getting shifted as the baby grows. The baby has been very active, especially after yoga and when I wake up in the morning. Strange to think I have made it to the third trimester! It has moved faster than I ever imagined. I will post more images later. Hugs to you all!

Weeks 21 & 22

OK, so it has taken me a while, and I am very sorry about that! So, here is a picture of me from the last two weeks. It is definately happening! I hope you enjoy. I thought it was also important for you all to remember the other important members in the family. Michael and Fisher are doing great.
Health-wise I am doing really well. Dealing with some minor back issues, but working through them.

We send our love to you all!

WE ARE HAVING A........

BABY! Hah! We are not going to share that with y'all right now. It is going to be a surprise. We had our 20 week ultrasound today, it was a KICK! I can not begin to tell you how interesting it is. I could have been there for hours just asking questions. I got a cd with about 25 images, and I am not going to put all of them up, but some of them that are easier to interpret are here for you to see. You will see one image where it looks like he/she is sitting indian style with its arm resting on its leg. Michael and I think that is a good sign for having a little yogini! Enjoy! We will be posting my pic tonight, we have fallen a little behind.

Hooter Hiders

I thought that might catch your attention. This is great! I had to put this on our blog, mostly because of the name, but also cuz it is such a great idea. Someone out there is thinkin'! Check out the website. I am definately going to register for one of these!!!!

The cool thing about them is there is a rigid neck line, so the mom can see what is going on but no one else can! Cool huh! You will see that the covers are called "Hooter Hiders" or "Bebe au Lait", the owners decided to make the same thing with two names, so if you feel you are too chic to wear a "Hooter Hider" you can wear a "Bebe au Lait instead" Fab!

19 Weeks!

Here is 19 weeks, not much to show for it right now. I ventured out this weekend to the land of maternity clothing. All I can really say to that is HOLY CRAP! It is possibly one of the most impossible things to grasp. I mean I am all about getting big, but how does one really estimate how big they might get, and how much they are willing to spend on clothing that they might wear for one year. Thanks to some friends I have gotten some hand me downs, but I do admit when it comes to pants I am kinda picky...my mother would be proud that I admit that, she has nightmares of shopping with me when I was little refusing to wear corduroys because of the swooshing sound they made when one walks.

So a friend and I went to the mall in search of some pants. The department stores have maternity clothing online, but when you arrive at the store, they do not carry maternity clothing in the store. Now why would one not carry maternity clothing in the store...I mean this is the point at which a woman is rather self conscious to begin with and to not be able to try something is slightly frustrating...instead you can go online guess what you think is right, order it and then try it on realizing you look like a whale in those jeans so you pay to ship them back and start all over...that is NOT remotely what I wanted to do.

I did find the BabyGap, they sell maternity clothing and it was successful, at least finding pants that fit was the successful part. Deciding that I would spend $50 on them was the bummer. People will just have to get used to me in the same three pairs of pants for the next year. I am sure you are all fine with that. By the way, I figured out why they put the women's maternity clothing in the BabyGap, see there are all these amazingly cute baby clothes and since your hormones are totally out of wack every little freakin baby thing is adorable and you can not help but pick up those $32 overalls for a baby girl...you just can not wait and have to have them. This is why you take a friend with you who is not a mom or pregnant, they keep you in check. I got out baby clothing free! Yeah me!

All in all, I have a found it to be a hysterical journey and in all reality it was not that bad, but I do find it to be amazing how this industry is booming! I mean you could honestly spend thousands of dollars on clothing...and you have not even started to buy clothing for your child yet...that is a whole other blog!

Hugs to you all, and I hope everyone is well. Chat with you next week.

a little more.....

I posted the latest picture last night, and said a few words, mostly because when it gets to that time of night I feel like I am not running on all cylinders. For example, yesterday I had gone for a great hike with a friend, a hike that I have done many a time, but this time around it sorta felt like a mini marathon. I was rather shocked...or maybe not prepared to feel that way. I got home, feeling totally famished, because of course because I am pregnant I forget that nurtrients go to the baby and then me...one must eat more....lesson learned...must store snacks in all areas, car, purse, house, office, etc. I decided to read up a little on the 18th week of pregnancy, well I did find that my heart is now working 50% harder now...well that would explain the mini marathon earlier in the day now wouldn't it. My uterus is the size of a cataloupe...that would explain my favorite jeans not really feeling the same way they did last week. And, one strange thing, my hair has been great! It has been rather full and having some volume, now that is not common for me at all! So, I found out that throughout my pregnancy I will not be losing any hair. You typically lose about 100 strands a day, not the case right now. Though, I was nicely warned by my hair stylist, once I stop breast feeding it is all over sister, it will all start falling out. All very interesting stuff.

I continue to feel really good, I have been very lucky and honored that this little one has been so good to me. I continue to send good vibes his/her way and he/she seems to give them in return. It is fun to share with friends and family through this process. Love and hugs to all!

SO COOL!

So, last night I was laying in bed reading this really great book called, Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert...I highly recommend it....but anyway I was reading and felt this very strange bubbly feathery feeling in my tummy! YEAH! I think I felt the baby move! Problem is I have never been pregnant before so for all I know it could be indigestion...but I do not think so, this felt way different.

I can tell I am moving into that next phase, the tummy is growing, it is getting more solid and I can feel the muscles and tendons starting to stretch, pretty wild. I have more energy now than I have had in a really long time, so that is great.

Feeling good...and can not wait for the tummy to get even bigger. I say that now, I know I am not going to feel that way at eight months!

Weeks 16 & 17

Weeks 16 & 17, nothing to exciting here. I am feeling very good and the energy seems to be coming back. I have found my appetite is getting better, I seem to always have something on hand.

Michael and I went to the doctor on Wednesday and all was well. The heartbeat is strong. I find the doctors appointments very interesting, it is sort of an in and out thing, nothing to dramatically exciting, not that I am complaining at all. I think one has these huge expectations of what it will be like, and really it is just a natural process that woman all go through.

The summer is flying by in Santa Fe, Michael has gone to Alaska for three weeks, one week of fishing with my dad and then a two week contract with NOLS and 8 astronauts. He is thrilled to be back up there, and I am quite jealous.

When Michael returns we will have our 20 week ultrasound, that will be great! I should start to feel movement these coming weeks, I will keep you all posted.

15 Weeks

Here I am at 15 weeks! This might seem slightly repetitive, but it is interesting to see the changes taking place one week at a time. Strange how I actually look smaller in week 14 and bigger in week 13, I have a feeling it makes a difference if I have eaten dinner or not!:)

I am feeling wonderful. The nausea has seemed to not be so intense...a sigh of relief. I did not have it very bad in the first place, but it is nice to know it is going away.

I have begun practicing my yoga again, with some slight modifications, it is feeling really good. I will hopefully remain doing Astanga Yoga throughout the pregnancy, even if I do have a huge belly.

14 weeks

Here I am at 14 weeks!

12 Weeks.....we made it through the first trimester!

We made it! We got through the first three months with no worries at all! I think it is more of a relief to be able to share the news with people than anything. We got back from vacation and I got to go to work and share the news with everyone. I large sigh of relief to not have to hold that secret any longer with the people you spend the most time with. Everyone is very excited and are all taking very good care of me.

We had our 12 week appointment, all was healthy and well. Michael got to hear the heartbeat, that was so great!

Here is a picture of me, you will notice I will be in the same clothing and spot for every picture for the coming weeks. We have decided it would be a ton of fun to make a flip book of my tummy getting bigger! That is going to be a hoot!
